Not much has really happened since I last posted, I am still working and still not happy with things being the way they are but I am getting on with it and just doing what I am doing, I'm sure things will get better.
After my occupational health assessment I have started to act on the advice of the woman who I spoke to. As of last weekend I have changed my Dr to a new one and I have booked an appointment to see a doctor to discuss the sleep study and the possibility of surgery and what I would need to know do before undertaking it. One huge concern I have is that the recommended recovery time is 4 weeks and I would probably have to take the time as unpaid leave as it is an elective procedure.
I also had Snarf spayed at the weekend which I wanted to do so she could go out but feel sooooo bad about as it would mean her having major surgery. Well she's out and everything is OK and to top it all off she is now much much more affectionate. She is a little needy and wants to be handled all the time and she hates the cone of shame but she is getting used to it now.
I was also at my oldest friends 30th party at the weekend and it made me realise that I still cannot drink and to be honest watching everyone having a good time and me drinking the most expensive pint of diet coke ever was a little depressing. I got to meet a couple of people who I had heard about by name which was nice.
I've had a couple of chances to play with photoshop post training last week and I am feeling a lot more confident in using the software and can't wait to get my hands on a meaty piece of work across sites.
We watched The Artist on Thursday and really enjoyed it, the music in the film was amazing, it provoked the right emotions at the right time and the sparse use of sounds in the movie really made it. When I heard it was a silent movie was lost all interest in the film and thought it would just be a film for the sake of it but it was truly a really enjoyable film.
Randomly I have done a 180 on my thoughts about the PSP Vita, initially I wasn't interested as it had a very poor launch range however after visiting game today I have seen about 8 games which weren't in the launch titles when I went in previously. So I may well have, come 22nd February, a new games console.
Until next time.

2012 new year, new post
I really am rubbish, my last post states how I am hoping to post more and get back into things and then two months later here I am posting that I am sorry for not sticking to what I promised.
So whats new with me then:
I can't say that much, I am now a retired World of Warcraft player! I haven't quit the MMO genre but I have left WoW and probably won't return for some time if at all. The reason for this is Star Wars:The Old Republic. I have been waiting for this game since I completed Knights 2 on the Xbox and when I saw screens of what I thought was a Knights squeal in the 360 magazine I was so excited. Since that day 3 or 4 years ago I have been watching for any news of the new knights game.
The greatest news ever came when BioWare announced that the game was going to be a MMO. I registered on their site for more information and watch with bated breath for every titbit of information that was released about the game while hoping for the beta invite of my dreams.
Alas said invite didn't arrive until the final wave of beta testing however it was amazing to go through and experience the game (for more than 15 minutes). Running round getting my quest on and interacting with the environment.
Other than working hard there hasn't been much else to report on other than yesterday when I had a phone call with occupational health. Because in 2011 I had more than 5 occurrences of sickness I was encouraged to speak with someone who is trained to see if I am faking, I mean really sick, I mean get a second opinion so that work can be assured that I am fit to be in and that there isn't anything that they need to do to make my work life better.
The outcome from this meeting was quite insightful as the Dr who I spoke to advised me that I should leave my current GP and not look back, for my sleep apnea (if that is what it is) I should have had a sleep study to verify if it is sleep apnea and if so I should be given a CPAP machine to regulate my breathing at night so that I don't stop breathing. Apparently breathing isn't optional!
Also she has recommended a website to look at for surgery and recommended that I take it seriously before it is too late, it is something that I have contemplated in the past but the thought of something going wrong scares me so much that I don't dare go through with it.
Finally for a change I haven't made a new years resolution (I say for a change but I haven't made one in the last 10 or so years) however I have set myself a goal of completing my diary, even if it is just a factual entry to say today I went to work, listened to Steel Panther and went home. This should help me with a few things and who knows I may even write down some "pearls of wisdom" to share with you all.
Until next time

Old Habbits Die Hard
With all the best intentions I promised myself that I would post at
least once a week however I've found myself running out of things to
post about and time in which to post my short ramblings. So with this in
mind I am going to do a slightly longer post this morning on the way to
work (though it will probably publish later rather than sooner as I
don't have wifi access on the train).
Let's see what has happened lately, to be honest I don't remember my last post so I will just list some of the random things that I have experienced in the past few weeks.
Yesterday was. Bit of a relief as a big job I was working on turned into a much smaller job as a lot of the updates that I needed to make turned out to be not needed.
Last Friday was an experience, I dressed as super mario for the day for movember, this is a charity that specialises in male cancers, and I travelled to Manchester, to the doctors, back to manchester, then to work and finally to a Katie Price book signing. It was quite the day but I managed to raise £35 and as a team we raised over £350!
Also at the docs I was given the astounding news that all my problems are because I am over weight and if I want to solve the sleep apnea, depression or the abnormal liver function then all I need to do is lose weight easier said than done in my experience but I will try.
To which end I was convinced by a friend to try aerobic DVDs, I got hold of the biggest loser DVDs and started them last night, I managed a whole 15 minute workout before I felt like I was going to die but I am sure that I will make it further and further if I keep at it. Also the same friend is taking me ice scaring next week, something that I haven't done before so I am just a little nervous.
Last Thursday I had my friend Chris over to watch some movies as there wasn't much on at the cinema for us last week. We managed the first two girl with the dragon tattoo movies which I really enjoyed even though they were a little dark in parts.
As I am nearly at work I am going to have to cut this short however I cannot end this post without mentioned the latest game I have been playing/beta testing.
Star Wars:The Old Republic.
This is perhaps one of the best MMO's I have played in a long time and a real contender for world of warcraft. All the quests are voice acted and you are given the choice to answer the quest in different ways so each players experience in the game is completely different. also you get companions as you progress through the game who help you in combat, crafting or even gathering. Not only that but they each have their own personalities and back stories.
I am really looking forward to the full release of this game and can see it absorbing what little time I have at the moment.
Until next time take care Jim

Quick update
I don't really have much to say really, so inevitably this will be a long post.
Errrm lets see. I've had the results of my Thyroid test and the verdict is *drum roll* Clear, that's right, I said to the doctor there wasn't anything wrong with my Thyroid and that the problem laid somewhere else and I was right. Now I am waiting for a telephone appointment from the doctor to tell me what the next steps are.
On the subject of health, I think I am coming down with something (nothing major) as I have felt sick to my stomach for the last couple of days. Not sure what it is, just hope it clears soon.
The final mention about my health is that I am getting a Flu jab from work tomorrow so that I don't end up ill over Christmas, I think this is a great idea for employers, you gain the appearance that you care about your employees health and you remove the risk that a percentage of your employees wont call in to say that they have the flu over the winter months.
Other than my health lets see, errrm Snarf is due at the vets on Saturday for her final injections which is a relief that it is finally done and one less thing on my plate. She's still in that playful kitten phase where all she wants to do is run around like a headless chicken and attack anything that moves.
I wastched a couple of films last night while wrapped up on the couch, Cherry and V for vendetta, both were really good and I was very impressed with vendetta given that I hadn't seen it before yesterday and all I knew was that it was based on a DC comic and that Natalie Portman was in it and shaved her head for the film. I'll probably watch it again in the coming weeks as I was really impressed and would like to see anything that I may have missed.
I have returned to Warcraft again, I didn't think that I would but I have missed the game a lot since I went to Rift and move house and after watching Blizzcon I found myself wanting to play it more and more. So I renewed my account last week and it is fantastic I don't know why I ever left.
Can't think of anything else that has happened in the last few days so I will leave it there and will probably post again later in the week.

my luck continues
Recently I have found myself quite lucky, last week I won £70 from a fruit machine, 2 Spiderman pens from a coin dozer style machine, a giant cup cake and a free game of bowling. Well apparantly that wasn't all fate had is store for me, from my last post you probably know I won £125 of next vouchers and £100 of shopping vouchers but today I also found out that I have won £75 of Amazon vouchers to spend on what I like.
I think my luck has been pushed to the limit but who knows maybe I'll win something else :)
I will post more later, thought I was ready for a proper outburst however I find myself sat here typing gibberish rather than my usual brand of coherent gibberish.

Last night and more blood
Last night was pretty cool having the run of the Next superstore and £125 of someone elses money to spend on me :) but there were a couple of downsides too.
The meal I opted for, yes my fault, was mediocre at best. The soup was the one flavor in the world that I hate, lentil, the Burger was alright although nothing to write home about and the desert was nice but much much too sugary.
Then we a little ceremony where everyone was called up one by one and given a certificate and their vouchers, I wasn't called up and neither was another chap. Luckily for us the hosts had 2 sets of spare vouchers as two of the people hadn't turned up for the event so we got vouchers and lots of apologies.
Then we went to Next, where we were photographed spending our vouchers and it was horrible, I dislike shopping at the best of times which is why I do most of it online however finding something that I liked was hard, finding that something in my size was near impossible. I got 1 shirt/jumper combo, a new manbag, some socks and some aftershave. I still have £45 left on my card to spend but I will have to work myself up to going back in there.
The night was OK and I am really glad of the recognition, it's just not the sort of night out I would have planned or that I would recommend to anyone who doesn't like shopping. That being said it is one more thing I can say I have done. "Gone shopping in a store after closing time"
As for the blood portion of this post, it's just another moan about the nurse this morning at the dr's. Not only was she late for my appointment by 15 minutes but then she stuck me with the needle, missed the vein so pulled it out and tried again, and again, and again and then she hit it. I felt like a human pin cushion afterwards and was glad to get out of there.
I am a little apprehensive about the results as a positive result means I have to go on Thyroid medication and a negative one means more tests. Woe is me.
Anyway, going to get back to work and will post later, I am off to the cinema tonight which should be fun.

I’m all excited (me me me, me, me, me, me!)
This week is quite an exciting week for me.
Yesterday was quite a boring day, you know same old same
old. Get up drink Pro Argi9 drink, go to work, come home, feed cat, go on PC
and then to bed.
Today however, is my mums 50th birthday and so I
am off to see her and we are going for a meal. Although being the typical man
and bad son that I am, I forgot it was her birthday today and had double booked
the evening… whoops.
Tomorrow is going to be a good day for me, as I am going to
be recognised for my hard* work. (I don’t think that I deserve this though I am
going to enjoy it). It starts at 5:30 with a meal at Papa G’s in the Printworks
where I and the other employee’s within the bank who have been recognised will
meet up. From there we will head to the
flagship (their words not mine) Next store in Manchester where we will each be given £125
in vouchers to spend! I am also in line
to receive another £100 of vouchers as a local team award at some point this
week.
Thursday is just going to be a usual day with a trip to the
cinema at the end to watch Drive.
And finally Friday is going to be good as Batman:Archam City
is released and I will be spending some of my vouchers on that as the first one
was phenomenal.
So yeah this post was all about me and how good my weeks
going to be, how about you, have you got anything planned?
